How I Make Time to Read
Hello everyone!
I decided to talk about how I manage to make time to read. If some of you don't know I am a full-time student, part-time pharmacy tech, tutor, and I do many more day to day things. Some of you are even busier than I am! I felt compelled to make this post to maybe help some of you make time to read, and maybe even give you new ways to catch up on reading that you may have not thought about before.
One way I like to get in reading is by dedicating me-time every day and finishing work early if I can. I know many people think they are too busy but just think. How many times per day do you aimlessly scroll on social media or watch Youtube? If you took that time to do work, whether school work or errands, you can dedicate the time you saved by doing your work early and use it for maybe an hour or so of reading! ππ€
Another way I make time to read is to read when I eat πI know, the horror! "What if I spill something on my book?", some may ask. How I read when I eat is I put the food in front of me directly and then I lay my book down behind my food so when I eat there is no chance of my food hitting the pages. I use my phone to lay on the book to keep it open so I don't have to use my hands to hold it up. I like to use the time to eat to read because it is usually one of my quietest times. In the morning when eating breakfast I will check my emails and then read. It gives me a good 20 minutes to get some pages in to read. At lunch, I find a quiet table at school and it gives me about an hour to read π₯ Dinnertime I usually do eat with others so I don't get to read too much at dinner, but from breakfast and lunch alone I got an extra 1 hour and 20 minutes of reading in.
One of the last ways I will talk about to help you read more is to carry a book with you everywhere you goπEven if you don't think you will have time to read, you will be so surprised by how many times you can sneak in some pages! I take my current read with me wherever I go just in case. I usually put it in a book sleeve to keep it safe, and then I put it in a bag of mine to have it with me wherever I head to. I've been able to find time at work when work is slow to read, in between my classes I have read, and I've even read standing in a long line at Starbucks! Carrying a book with you wherever you go allows you to constantly see it, and have it on hand for the chances you do have time to read. So it allows you to pick up a book instead of picking up your phone and losing valuable reading time! π

Get to Know Me Bookish Questions!
Hey everyone! I thought I'd start off by a little get to know me, but with book-related questions. So off we go... π
Can you stop reading at any time, or does it have to be a certain page or chapter?
I usually have to stop at a chapter or when there's a pause in the chapter. I only stop at a random page or line if I need to, like if I'm waiting for an appointment and get called in.

Do you eat or drink anything whilst reading?
I use to drink a crap ton of coffee, buuuuuuuut I'm trying to cut down on my caffeine intake so I've been opting for bot chocolate.

Can you read listening to music or watching TV?
I don't like to read while listening to music or having the TV on, but if I'm with someone and they want to watch a show it won't bother me. I can usually zone out.

One book at a time, or several at once?
Usually, one book at a time unless another one catches my eye along with my current read then I tend to read both.

Reading at home or everywhere?
Everywhere! I always have a book with me to read. Get to class early? Read. Get to an appointment early? Read. Work slow? Read. Etc.π

Reading out loud or silently in your head?
In my head. If I read out lout I tend to not pay attention to what is actually going on.

Do you read ahead, or skip pages?
Nope!....well mostly nope. Sometimes if I'm reading a good action scene I will skip lines, but then I catch myself and go back.

Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
Keeping it new for the most part, but I feel like some of my books fit the "old and read" vibe.

Do you write books, or just read them?I would like to eventually write a book. I have an idea, I just need to figure out how to actually start (I think every writer's dilemma). So for now, I just read. π
What about all of you guys? I'd love to hear your answers!
